My name is Jan Shaughnessy and I have been specializing in almost all aspects of psychological and behavioral issues for over 20 years. When dealing with stressful situations or difficult times, it can be hard to know what to do or how to get help. Uncertainty, stress, and discomfort can be immediate triggers for anxiety, depression, mood disorders, or even weight loss or weight gain. With these issues I use a method called Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to treat my patients and help them cope. This method is used to help my patient’s focus on removing psychological and behavioral obstacles and overcoming fear. CBT can include a variety of techniques and can be used with a variety of diagnoses. The goal is to challenge patterns of thinking and replace them with realistic thought processes.

At some point in time, almost every person will face a traumatic experience or difficult  time in his or her life. The emotional and physical pain caused by these experiences can leave deep emotional scarring that may never heal without help. My job is to access your issues, gain a better understanding of your needs, and provide a solution to help you reach your goals, emotionally and physically. I can get you back on track!
